My Very Own Blanket- www.mvob.org Make a difference TODAY with this amazing charity. Started in 1999 by Jessica Hollins, My Very Own Blanket has delivered over 55thousand blankets to children in foster care...you can make a blanket, cut quilting squares or send money--100-percent of which goes to MVOB. Help a child feel LOVED and VALUED and give them what may be the first thing that truly belonged to them!
Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption- My sweet mommy told me the story of Dave Thomas when we went to Wendy's after church when I was in grade school. I loved that I shared a connection with him. Little did I know in 1980-something how much I would come to respect a foundation by his name. Head on over and find resources for spreading the word about children who need homes or maybe how to set up a kickball game for a home in your area. LOVE. Love. LOVE THEM. https://www.davethomasfoundation.org/free-adoption-resources/
Birthday Buddies and POP UP Birthdays are both groups that need your help in providing birthday gifts and parties for Foster Children that would otherwise do without. You can choose how much you give and know you will be creating a memory that child will never forget.
Safe Haven Alliance - I have loved and supported this program since my mom first called me (in tears) to tell me about it and how happy she was to see more options. For more information, to donate or to find a Safe Haven drop-off in your area go to http://www.nationalsafehavenalliance.org/law.php
Indiana has allowed "Baby Boxes" to be implemented for crisis situations. Do not let others tell you otherwise: These are incubators with alarms. This is the first state to implement this. It is a last option in the greatest crisis and there is a 1-800# for counseling and help for the parent that leaves the child.
